Why the XAU Turbo Hunter EA stays simple
Many robots arrive with a folder full of preset files, and the trader then guesses which one fits. This one skips that step, because the default configuration is the configuration we run. Therefore your only real decisions are the account type and the balance you commit.
The M1 timeframe on gold produces plenty of movement, so spread matters more than anything else. For that reason an ECN or PRO low spread account is the right home for it. A Standard account with a wide spread, meanwhile, eats the edge before the trade even starts.
These results were achieved on our account during a specific time and market. However, we strongly recommend running it on a Demo account for an extended period, so you can evaluate it properly and make any necessary modifications. Only move to a Real account once the behaviour of the robot feels familiar.
Installing the XAU Turbo Hunter EA in MetaTrader 4
- First, download the file from your account and unzip it.
- Then open MetaTrader 4 and click File > Open Data Folder.
- Next, open the Experts folder inside the MetaTrader data folder and paste the robot there.
- After that, right click Expert Advisors in the Navigator and choose Refresh.
- Now drag it onto a XAUUSD chart and set the timeframe to M1.
- Finally, switch AutoTrading on, so the robot can place its orders.
Running it day to day
Gold never sits still, so the terminal has to stay online while the robot works. A VPS solves that, although a computer that never sleeps does the same job. Check the spread your broker shows on XAUUSD before the first trade, and then keep an eye on it during news hours.
Start with one chart and one pair. Once the routine feels comfortable, you can add another symbol with its own balance behind it. Because the market runs around the clock, position sizing matters far more than the hour on the clock.
