How the cryptocurrency converter prices a coin
Currencies have one interbank rate, whereas coins do not. Bitcoin trades on hundreds of venues at the same time, each with its own book, so the price here is a market feed rather than an official rate, and another exchange may print a slightly different number at the same second.
Generally the gap is small on the major coins and much wider on thin ones. Therefore, treat the figure as an accurate reference for the market as a whole, and expect the exchange you actually use to quote you a few tenths of a percent away from it.
Why the cryptocurrency converter result moves while you read it
