Trojan, the harami candlestick pattern MT4 indicator with tiny stops and long runs
A big candle pushes the market. Then a small one appears, completely hidden inside its body, and the push simply stops. That pause is the moment the market changes hands. Trojan is a harami candlestick pattern MT4 indicator that finds that pair at a fresh extreme and fires when the next candle confirms the turn.
The arrow does not repaint, does not move and does not disappear. It needs three closed candles, and once it prints it stays exactly where it printed.
Real chart, gold on H1. Price makes a fresh high, a small candle hides inside the big one, and the next candle closes below it. The sell arrow prints at 4392.29 and the stop goes above the pattern at 4399.65, a risk of 74 pips, which on gold is around 7 dollars. In the following days gold fell to 4322.71, a move of 695 pips, more than nine times the risk. Every price comes from the exact candle history of that chart.
What the harami really shows
The harami takes its name from the old Japanese word for pregnant: a large candle carrying a small one inside it. The first candle is the last strong push, and the second one is the market going quiet right where it should be running.
That silence is the clue. However, a harami by itself fails often, which is why traders wait for the candle after it. Trojan does exactly that, and it only looks for the pattern at the edge of the recent range, where a turn is worth something.
What Trojan checks before it fires
- The mother candle. A body bigger than a normal candle of that market, at the highest high or lowest low of the look back.
- The hidden candle. A smaller body, fully inside the body of the mother.
- The confirmation. The next candle closes beyond the hidden candle, in the direction of the turn.
Because the stop goes on the far side of the mother candle, the risk is defined by the pattern itself, not by a fixed number of pips. As a result, the ratio between risk and reward is usually excellent.
How to trade the harami candlestick pattern MT4 signals
- Enter on the close of the confirming candle. At that point the turn has a vote behind it.
- Stop beyond the extreme of the mother candle. If price goes back there, the push was not finished.
- Hold for the big move. On H1 these signals often run for days, so trail instead of closing at the first target.
- Scalp it on M5. Also, the same pattern on M5 gives fast trades with very small stops.
Markets and timeframes
| Gold XAUUSD | H1 for the big runs, M5 for scalping |
| EURUSD | M5, perfect for scalping |
| All major pairs | M5 to H1, the same rules |
On H1 this harami candlestick pattern MT4 tool gives fewer arrows, and each one can run for days. Therefore, use the low timeframes when you want activity and the high ones when you want size.
What is inside
- Harami reversals in both directions, buy and sell.
- Small dots on the hidden candle, so you see the setup before the arrow.
- Editable mother power, hidden candle size, look back and confirmation rule.
- Arrows on closed candles only. They do not repaint, move or disappear.
- Popup, sound, push and email alerts, each one switchable.
- Premium dark chart theme, applied on attach and restored on remove.
Besides, it reads price only, so any broker and any account works. If you want robots that trade by themselves, browse our automated robots, and the rest of the manual set is in our chart tools for traders.
Questions about this harami candlestick pattern MT4
Does it repaint? No. Three closed candles are needed before the arrow prints, and it never moves afterwards.
Do the shadows have to be inside too? Not by default, because the classic harami compares bodies. You can ask for the strict version with one setting.
Why is this one more expensive? Because of the ratio. The stop is the size of one candle and the moves in the examples ran for hundreds of pips.
Do you have the other version? Yes. This is the MetaTrader 4 build, and Trojan for MT5 finds the same pattern on MetaTrader 4.
Trading involves risk. Signals are information, not advice, so try any new tool on a demo account first and only trade money you can afford to lose.
