Breakout Robot for Energy Names, Utilities EA for MT5 and MT4
Threshold EA is an automated trading robot, and above all it is built for steady, low-risk growth that anyone can run. As a utilities EA MT5 owners can leave alone, it waits at the edge of a range and strikes once price breaks through with strength. You attach it, then you choose your risk, and afterwards it works on its own. So the package needs no indicators and no chart reading.
MULTI-PAIR • LOW DRAWDOWN • BEGINNER FRIENDLY!
Utilities, Energy Names and a Few Currencies
Power companies move in a particular way. Their prices coil for days, then they jump once a fresh driver arrives. That rhythm suits a breakout robot, which explains why public utility shares fill much of the list below. Energy names sit alongside them, since they answer to the same headlines. Currencies join the mix as well, because EURJPY, AUDCAD and USDCHF also build ranges before they break.
Waiting at the Edge of the Range
Threshold does nothing while price drifts sideways. Once the market finally commits, however, the robot joins the move. Before an order goes out, direction, momentum, strength and the higher timeframe all have to agree. If one of them says no, then it waits for the next candle instead. In short, patience is the whole edge here.
Afterwards the exit block takes over. An automatic stop protects the position first. Then a dynamic trailing stop follows price and locks profit while the break extends. Meanwhile a daily profit target can close the day in green and stand aside, so drawdown stays low. Still, you keep the last word, because every limit sits in the Inputs tab.

Why Traders Pick Threshold
- Runs on many markets, because one robot stayed profitable across US utilities and energy stocks, plus Forex.
- Low, controlled drawdown, since it caps risk on every trade while a daily profit lock keeps growth steady.
- Truly hands-off, therefore entry, position sizing, stop, trailing and exit all run automatically.
- Beginner friendly, with sensible defaults out of the box, so you skip the complex tuning.
- No activation and no license hassle, so you buy once and keep it forever, lifetime updates included.
Inside the Threshold EA for MT5
- Adaptive position sizing, in other words a fixed lot or automatic risk-based lots that follow your balance.
- Daily profit lock, and consequently the day ends as soon as the target arrives.
- Smart exits, because every trade carries a stop loss, break-even and a dynamic trailing stop.
- Session control, therefore only the sessions you choose stay active (Sydney / Tokyo / London / New York).
- News filter, because the native MT5 economic calendar needs no external URLs. On MT4, instead, the faireconomy calendar does the job.
- Weekend shield, since trades close before the weekend, so a gap cannot surprise you.
- Spread & slippage filter, in addition to a clean on-chart dashboard on every chart.
Spreads, Sessions and the Weekend
A false break usually arrives with a wide spread. Therefore the spread filter simply blocks those entries until the quote tightens again. Session control does something similar with the clock, because a utility share behaves differently outside its home hours. Friday gets its own rule as well, since the weekend shield closes open trades before the gap. As a result, a losing day stays small.
Running More Than One MT5 Chart With One EA
Several accounts are unnecessary, so one funded balance is enough. Instead, attach the robot to several charts and switch Position Sizing to a fixed lot, for example 0.01 per pair. Each symbol then keeps a controlled size, while the profits from all of them add up together in the same account. For maximum compounding on a single instrument, rather, run one symbol per account in risk-percent mode. Still, avoid risk-percent with many symbols on one account, since each chart would size on the full balance.
